CodeSense AI

A personal experiment.
Paste code, get a plain-English breakdown.
CodeSense AI explains code in plain English. Paste any snippet, pick the language, and it breaks the code down line by line so you can see what each part does. It is useful for beginners, and for anyone reading a language or a codebase they have not seen before.
It supports more than twenty languages, from JavaScript, Python and Java to Rust, Go, SQL and Bash, with syntax colouring like a code editor.
- 01
Paste code and choose a language
Use the box on the page, or start from one of the built-in examples. Ctrl + Enter explains the code straight away.
- 02
An AI model writes the explanation
The code is sent to Meta’s Llama 3.2 3B model through Hugging Face, which returns a plain-language explanation for each line.
- 03
A backup if the AI is unavailable
If the model cannot be reached, a rule-based explainer takes over so you still get an answer.
- 04
Read, copy, download
Explanations appear beside the highlighted code, and any line, or the whole explanation, can be copied or downloaded.
AI explanations can be wrong on unusual code, so treat them as a guide and check anything important.
